Why do people argue about religion?

It is impossible to know if God exists or not/ whether we are reincarnated, go to heaven/hell, or simply vanish into nothingness/ whether the universe is it or there is some extraneous supernatural aspect to it outside the scope of typically scientific examination. All Richard Dawkins does is pointlessly destroys peoples comfort mechanism, regardless of the actual validity of their certain religion he is merely bring hate into this world and the exact same can really be said of any over zealous missionary religious individual pushing theology down the atheist/agnostic's throat with threats of eternal damnation. I wish we would just all adopt apatheism; Buddha never commented on the supernatural because he thought their were enough problems in this world to begin with....
